StuyCrypto makes blockchain technology and cryptocurrency accessible to students of all backgrounds and skill levels — no prior experience required.
About the club
Many believe that decentralized finance, cryptocurrency, and web3 are the future of the internet. Blockchain technologies could let people own their own data, instead of it being stored on a tech company's servers.
Through projects and discussion, StuyCrypto educates members on both the technical and the real-world aspects of the tech, motivates students to explore cryptography, and improves their financial literacy.

Meetings may be disrupted during exam periods and holidays. The schedule is subject to change during the year.

Agenda & news
Every meeting opens with a prepared agenda focused on a particular aspect of blockchain technology — always accounting for the most recent developments. Members discuss the news of the week or share their own experiences with the tech.

Practical lessons
Hands-on explanations of how blockchains actually work: hashing, blocks, nodes, Proof of Work vs. Proof of Stake, and smart contracts.

Build & break things
Members write real smart contracts in languages like Solidity and Rust, build and interact with testnet tokens, and complete security challenges such as Damn Vulnerable DeFi.

Guest speakers
Some meetings bring in guest speakers who share their experience and passion for the space.

Plan the meetings, make the lessons, teach the members, and lead the discussions.
Secretary
Runs the logistics of the club.
Succession
Graduating or resigning officers choose their successors in April of their graduation or resigning year — so leadership is always transitioned in time for the new school year.
